Over 50 million children in the US are at home because of the COVID-19 pandemic that forced schools, bars, restaurants, and other non-essential businesses to shut down.

States are still developing plans to reopen gradually but it is not clear how many weeks or months it will take. This means students will likely be at home for the rest of the school year.
