As the YouTuber, who has over 200,000 followers on her channel, revealed, she bought her miniature pig for around $650 when he was still little. Now, Milo is a part of the family, whereas Simone insists that he is like a son to her.

“He is tidy and completely house-trained, other than when he loves to bring in straw into the house from his outside bedding, which I always have to clean up after him,” she explained.

“He has his own ‘pig-proof’ house in the back garden where he sleeps at night but most days, he loves sleeping on the sofa, snuggled up to the pillows, his mermaid blanket and squeaky toys. Milo is a part of the family and he is like a son to us.”

Not only does Milo make an excellent companion and a friend but he also helped Simone emotionally during the lockdown.

“I may regret to admit this but when I start feeling a little stressed, I lay down next to him on his rug and just give him a huge cuddle. He often likes to raise his nose towards him so I can give him a kiss on the snout,” she added.

While the 28-year-old says pigs make excellent pets, she wants to warn potential buyers to do their research in advance and to prepare for the fact that their animals will eventually grow.

“What people don’t realize is that there isn’t such thing as a ‘micro pig’ or ‘tea-cup’ pig. Milo is actually a ‘miniature pig’ and is smaller than a ‘regular pig’, even though by looking at him you won’t think so,” Simone explained.

“Micro pigs just don’t exist and it is naive to buy a pig, thinking it is going to stay tiny, and then complain when the pig grows.”
