A woman named Daljinder Kaur gave birth to her first baby at the age of 72 years old. She is till now the most aged woman to give birth to a baby and become a first- time mother.
Daljinder’s husband is 80 years old, and he also became a father at this age. The couple always wanted to become parents, but they were unable to conceive until now.
The family is grateful to medical science as it helped them in finally becoming parents to a beautiful baby.
People might be wondering if it is a right decision to have a baby at such an old age because if the mother has to take care of the baby till it is 18, then she has to live till she’s 90 years old.
It’s rare that people are alive till the time they reach that age and even if they are then will they be physically healthy enough to take care of the child at that age?
The Kaurs live in, and they went to a clinic to get their IVF done, but the clinic refused them. The couple didn’t give up there and kept insisting on the clinic.
When finally the clinic agreed to help them then Daljinder started her IVF treatment in her late 60s for two years. Successfully, Daljinder gave birth to the baby normally and was also even to breastfeed the baby during the initial months.
Mohinder Singh Kaur who is the father of the child says that they want to give the best to their kid when he grows up.
After some months, the Kaurs had their problems as Daljinder started to have some medical issues which may stay permanent. She is now suffering from weak joints and blood pressure. The baby has started to move around, and the parents are struggling to walk after him and to lift him.
The Kaurs named the baby Arman who is smaller as compared to others of his age and it is possible that this is a side effect of the late pregnancy.
Mohinder claims that people keep questioning them about what will happen to the child once they die, but Mohinder always replies positively saying that God will take care of everything.
There is a high possibility that other old aged couple will start having kids after being inspired by this story. Though presently there are no laws about the age restriction to undergo IVF treatment, according to the medical experts, women after the age of 50 shouldn’t undergo IVF.
There have been other cases of old age pregnancy but Daljinder’s is by far the highest.
