As the woman revealed, she was resting her feet on the dashboard while riding in a car operated by her boyfriend. Though the pair was driving at just 30 miles per hour, Kealy suffered extreme injuries to her head after the vehicle skidded off an icy road and slammed into a wall.

Upon impact, the airbag on the passenger’s side inflated and sent the girl’s knees flying into her forehead at a great speed.

“I was one of those people who had my feet up. I thought I was going to be more comfortable,” Kealy said in an interview with the New Zealand Herald.

“The only thing I can hope for people is to learn from my mistakes and don’t take the risk. You just don’t know. You can’t control every car on the road or the conditions around you.”

For two years after the car crash, Kealy was forced to live with a massive dent in her head where her forehead used to be until she was finally fitted with a ceramic replacement.

Though the 35-year-old has now revealed she had finally finished plastic surgery to improve her looks, she is still suffering from the effects of her injury all those years ago.

“I constantly lose words while in the middle of a conversation. This can happen to me 20 times a day,” she said, The Sun reported.

“I get headaches when too many people are talking around and I sometimes find it difficult to stay focused.”

Since the terrible accident, Kealy has worked hard to raise awareness about the unseen dangers of putting your feet on the dashboard while riding in a car.

“This breaks my heart to think of how many millions of people have seen these celebrities with their feet on the dashboard,” Kealy wrote in one of her posts as she warned people not to copy influencers who drive around with their feet on the dashboard.

“I can only hope that people will eventually learn from my mistake.”
