A pet animal is very used to of living around their humans, especially when it is a dog.
A dog would love their human-like there is no one else in the world.
When the same owner leaves their pet in a kill shelter, the pet first dies because of the heartbreak of being abandoned by their owner and then when no one adopts them, they are killed to let the new animals come in.
A wolfdog, who had grown massive in size became too much to handle for his owner who abandoned him and left the poor baby at a kill shelter.
Yuki was a sweet dog who was left by his owner at a kill shelter. The kind of shelters that kills an animal after a certain period of time to make room for more animals to come in.
Yuki is a mix between a wolf and a dog. Yuki was then rescued from the shelter in 2008 by the volunteer workers of Shy Wolf Sanctuary, in Naples, Florida. He has been living in the sanctuary ever since.
According to researches, a wolfdog does not has traits completely matching to either a wolf or a dog. It has traits of both and it is hard to predict their moves.
Brittany explained, “We saved the wolfdog from a danegerous situation. Somebody bought him from a breeder and later realized that it was very difficult to handle. Those people dumped him at a kill shelter when he was jut eight months old.
‘We got in and provided the wolfdog with a home and since then he has been with us.”
She further added “All creatures demand and also deserve respect. There is a different encounter in the wild as compared to what I do here with these people.
The animals with whom I work have never been and will never be in the wild, so they are comparatively much more socialized. We basically try to show off the lovable moments of these animals hoping that the people will maybe change their frightful response into respect because of the education.
Also we try giving a living creature a chance at a decent life. Otherwise these animals would be euthanized.”
