37-year-old Jamie Nicole Redmon Baker from Kentucky was on a healing trip following the death of her husband when she fell 75ft from a cliff.
Baker was climbing in an area called Chutes and Latters in Hawaii but she fell to the bottom of the cliff, leaving her 3-year-old daughter orphaned.
Rescuers failed to resuscitate her after she was found on the ground. Authorities said that she was pronounced dead at the scene.
A physical therapist, Baker had left behind their 3-year-old daughter, according to a Facebook post written by her cousin.
This wasn’t the first time tragedy struck the family. Baker’s husband Lonnie suddenly passed away on June 2017.
Their friends said that Baker and her child had made the trip in an attempt to heal from their heartache.
“This was a healing vacation for her and her small child. RIP Nicole,” Jessica Lynn, her friend, wrote on Facebook.
