As 35-year-old Kelly Roberts who owns 6 cocker spaniels, a breed with long hairy ears, explained, she makes her dogs wear snoods while eating to prevent them from getting wet and dirty.

After sharing her brilliant solution on the internet, however, the vet faced a major backlash from so-called animal lovers who branded her act animal abuse.

Immediately, the woman received a series of replies in which people accused her of being “cruel” and abusing her animals for making them wear snoods.

“The police and RSPCA have your twitter handle and video evidence and will be looking into it,” someone wrote.

“How could you do this to your own animals can’t you see they’re upset and terrified of you!?” someone suggested.

One person said: “This isn’t a great idea. Dogs’ hearing should be unimpeded, it’s very sensitive and contributes to their feelings of wellbeing.”

After the backlash, Roberts uploaded another video in which she showed her six dogs without snoods to prove they’re not “sad” or “terrified” like what strangers claimed.

“If anyone thinks my dog’s are ‘frozen with fear’ or terrified, distraught or giving the side eye in their snoods, well here they are rocking their ‘concentration face’ with no snoods while waiting for some dried liver. They got you good,” she wrote.

“I think people should take a look at my other videos to see how my dogs behave and how they are treated in general, before making a judgment. The look on their faces is not because of the snoods, it’s because they are focused!” the veterinarian later added.

As for the so-called reports of animal abuse, they appear to be empty threats of people who have nothing better to do with their lives than bash people on social media for no good reason.

“I haven’t heard anything from the police in terms of an ‘investigation’ – only from individual police officers and dog handlers with 100 percent support for me,” the 35-year-old concluded.
