A woman who was left heartbroken and devastated after her cat’s death has chosen to speak out on it.
Michelle Olson who lives in Houston, Texas had taken her 8 years old cat Sophie to get vaccinated for rabies at Suburbia North Animal Hospital.
But rather than giving her the vaccination that she was there for, the doctors gave her the wrong injection that killed the feline friend.
Michelle had no idea what had happened to her cat. She just took it and was on her way back to her home with her husband. That is when she received a call from the hospital.
On the call was the doctor that had given her the injection. He said that they have mistakenly given her the wrong injection. She has been injected with euthanasia rather than the rabies vaccination. The doctor asked Michelle to brink Sophie right back and she told him she was doing that.
Michelle said “As soon as I hung up the call, I took Sophie out of her carrier and took her in my arms because I knew that is what is going to matter in the end. I knew she is going to die. She was dying in my arms and I wanted to make this time right for her so I kept talking to her.”
“As soon as we reached the hospital, the doctors rushed to take her and tried their best to save her but they could not. It was heartbreaking but I knew this was going to happen.”
“I in no sense here trying to bash the hospital but I am trying to spread awareness in pet owners for taking care of what is being given to your baby because I do not wish the same to happen to you or your pet.”
