It does take both old and the young to change the world – and the finest display of such camaraderie across the generations is being displayed in the United Kingdom.
The already famous centenarian Tom Moore has accomplished his amazing walk earlier this year to attract charity across the nation. Now his steadfast efforts are being transferred to a 5-year-old child, who is on prosthetic legs and has walked six miles in total over the course of the month previous. And the boy has managed to raise over a million dollars for the NHS, specifically to the hospital in which he was born into and was saved from near-death abuse.
His name is Tony Hudgell, and he had to resort to prosthetic legs after he lost his legs by his biological parents’ abuse, leaving him at critical state in the intensive care unit in the London children’s hospital. Thanking the hospital’s efforts in his survival, he had initially started out with a modest goal of 500 pounds for his walk, but his story got known through social media and it escalated quickly.
Tony completed his walk at West Malling, southeast England, a feat which he celebrated with his family through adoption; “It is incredible to think that just a few weeks ago Tony could barely take a few steps. He is such a strong and determined boy and we are so proud,” his mother, Paula Hudgell told the press.
