A tiny Chihuahua hasn’t yet been found after a seagull took it from a house garden and flew away.
Becca Hill, the owner of the missing pup, is asking for help ever since her little dog Gizmo was taken away by the seagull.
According to the 24-year-old, Gizmo was in the garden of her house in Devon County of southwest England when a seagull swooped down, grabbed the 4-year-old dog, and flew away with it.
Speaking to Devon Live, Becca revealed that her partner witnessed the scene but the bird flew away before he could do anything.
“My partner was in the garden putting the washing out at the time and suddenly he saw it swoop down. It carried Gizmo a fair way as we couldn’t see him anymore,” she told Devon Live.
“I have no idea if he was dropped or where he is now.”
According to The Guardian, Becca took to social media to request the general public to be vigilant and inform her if they happen to see the dog. The woman, who owns two other Chihuahuas, has been making every possible effort to get her cute little friend back.
“My baby is still missing. Doesn’t feel right not waking up to him licking my face,” she wrote on Facebook.
The local UAV Lost Dog Search & Rescue organization is also playing its part by asking people to check for the dog in unexpected places.
“Anyone who lives in the surrounding areas in Paignton please can you keep your eyes open,” said the organization in a Facebook post.
“Gardens, rooftops, trees, under hedges etc. all need looking at carefully – many thanks.”
In another Facebook post, the organization made it clear that the rumors of Gizmo being found were false. The white and brown dog, who is about 9 inches tall, is yet to be found, the post noted.
“Sadly he is still missing despite rumors circulating across other areas of social media that he has been found. Searches continuing today,” the organization wrote.
“As soon as there is anything to update it will be done ASAP.”
The worrying incident doesn’t reflect “typical gull behavior,” the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds reassured the dog owners.
“This must be extremely upsetting for the dog’s owner. Fortunately these types of incidents are very rare and not typical gull behavior,” the society told Devon Live.
