The attack follows after the Pentagon deployed dozens of B-52 bombers and the USS Lincoln aircraft carrier to the Middle East in an attempt to counter Iran’s “clear indications” of a threat.

In a conference, Ali Motahhari, the vice speaker of the Iranian Parliament’s, said the U.S. military presence in the region started a “psychological” war. On top of that, he warned the States there would be retaliation if they launched an attack on Iran.

“The US military forces’ deployment in the Persian Gulf is more of the nature of psychological warfare. They are not ready for a war, especially when Israel is within our range,” the vice speaker told FARS.

According to the U.S. intelligence, Iran is unstable and on the verge of launching an offensive action against American interests and the interests of their partners.

Mr. Motahhari’s statement matches that of Amir Ali Hajizadeh, the leader of the Revolutionary Guard’s air force, who accused the U.S. of posing a “serious threat” and warned retaliation would be inevitable in case of an attack.

“An aircraft carrier that has at least 40 to 50 planes on it and 6,000 forces gathered within it was a serious threat for us in the past,” Hajizadeh said in an interview with the Iranian Students’ News Agency.

“But now it is a target and the threats have switched to opportunities. If [Americans] make a move, we will hit them in the head.”

Now, the two tankers suffered an attack that caused “significant damage” and rendered the vessels powerless. Fortunately, however, no one was injured in the attack.

“Fortunately, the attack didn’t lead to any casualties or oil spill; however, it caused significant damage to the structures of the two vessels,” Khalid Al-Falih, energy minister of Saudi Arabia, said.
