In a heartbreaking reunion, two sisters with Alzheimer’s were reunited after being apart and not seeing each other for long 15 years.

79-year-old Ann Patrick and 88-year-old Marguerita Wilson had lost touch with each other over a decade ago due to the responsibilities they had in their private lives.

Fortunately, however, they have been reunited with the help of Ann’s granddaughter, Louise Gover.

Louise, who works as a manager at an Alzheimer’s club, met Marguerita by chance when the pensioner visited her workplace.

After noticing the similarities, including the accent and the looks, between Marguerita and her grandmother, Louise decided to inquire about the mysterious visitor’s past.

Soon enough, Louise found out not only that Ann and Marguerita are sisters but also that they haven’t seen each other for over 15 years.

Following the discovery, Louise arranged a heart-wrenching reunion which took place at the care home where Ann is staying.

“It was a very emotional meeting. My nan and Marguerita were delighted to see each other again, and everyone from family to the care home nurses was crying a few tears,” Louise recalled, suggesting that the reunion was a total success.

As the family explained, Ann and Marguerita got separated and lost contact with each other through a string of life events.

Both sisters now also suffer from Alzheimer’s. While Ann’s condition is more advanced and accompanied by speech difficulties, it is truly heartwarming to see that the two sisters immediately recognized each other upon their reunion.
