Hull Live reporter Anna Riley has revealed her boyfriend recently moved in with her amid lockdown and things were not pleasant in the beginning.
Anna met her boyfriend on the dating app Bumble and the couple recently decided to move in together amid lockdown so they can get to know each other better.
Since Anna’s house is bigger and she also has cats, she asked her boyfriend to move in with her.
However, as soon as he moved in, Anna started noticing unpleasant things about him and one of the first things was the incessant amount of alarms her boyfriend sets to get up early.
Anna’s boyfriend works as a joiner and construction worker and is still working amid lockdown. So, when he moved in, Anna came to know about this unpleasant habit of her boyfriend.
She said: “But for some reason feels the need to set what feels like a million alarms. He literally rolls out of bed and into his work gear without even taking the time to brush his teeth so why there is a need to set so many alarms and fall back asleep in between them is beyond me.”
The second annoying thing Anna learned about her boyfriend was that he is a little messy as his clothes are always on the floor.
Anna said the wardrobe is an alien concept for him and she was left surprised when she saw her clothes with holes in them as he usually dresses nicely for their dates.
She said: “His lounge attire was that ragged, that the other night whilst I was video-messaging friends and the camera turned to my boyfriend, one of them even asked “why is there a homeless man sitting on your sofa?”.”
When she asked him about the clothes with the holes in them, he said they are for work and can be used for another six months.
Anna told her boyfriend has brought 170 cans of beer and two bottles of vodka as he loves drinking and wanted to make sure he had them amid lockdown.
Anna said this is another frustrating thing as they have nearly blocked the cat flap in the kitchen.
She said: On the topic of beers, I found myself having to pick up all the empties from the floor and put them in the bin, or put them in the bin even though he had left them right next to the bin on the side, but just hadn’t quite managed to throw them away all together.”
Another annoying thing is that Anna’s boyfriend has brought a hideous garden chair with him and television which has ruined the décor.
Burping, farting, leaving the kitchen messy and the toilet seat up are some other unpleasant things that Anna learned about her boyfriend.
Anna, who has finally learned what it’s like to live with a partner, feels grateful despite all this.
She says she is blessed she can see him every day during the coronavirus lockdown as many are living away from their families or loved ones.
She said: “Despite his lazy ways, I’m glad we made the decision to move in together and so far, so good.”
