A senior widow has become best friends with her neighbor’s dog after living alone of over three decades.
It has been 30 years since now-93-year-old Sally Rewehooeern lost her husband. Ever since his passing, Sally, who is originally from the Netherlands, had been living alone at her home in the U.S.
While no one could fill the void in her heart, the local community did their best to keep an eye on the elderly woman and make her feel less lonely.
One of the families close to Sally are the Mazzarellas who have been the woman’s neighbors for the last 15 years.
After David Mazzarella’s dog died, the family brought in Brody the St. Bernard, an adorable 15-week-old puppy who turned out to become Sally’s best friend after accidentally strolling to her front door while exploring his new neighborhood.
Sally welcomed the pooch with open arms and gave him a delicious snack. Ever since that moment, the two have been best buddies with Brody often coming to Sally’s home to play in the garden or sleep beside her on the sofa inside her house.
“From the moment he sees me he’s so happy. Brody really loves me – Dave says it’s my voice,” Sally said in an interview, explaining how the two watch television shows together.
Amazed by the pair’s unbreakable bond, David began sharing pictures of Sally and Brody moments on Instagram where the two have become mini-celebrities.
