Fast forward to 2017 –
Kevin is is 31, happily married, and has a beautiful daughter.
And, most importantly, he is a doctor at the very same hospital he was at in 2007.

And he says that he was inspired to pursue medicine because of the person who saved his life, Dr. Sheth Zelmanski.

“The compassion and drive that Dr. Sheth has shown in trying to save my life.. I just wanna pay that forward,” said Morton.

“We knew he wasn’t going to give up,” said Dr. Sheth in her interview with the NBC News.
“We weren’t gonna give up – so we had to make it happen.”

And she added that she was simply amazed and touched by the fact that one of her patients not only survived, but at how her patient also turned as his student.
