The Pope condemned abortion in a recent speech and claimed the act can never be condoned while comparing it to ‘hiring a hitman.
’
During an anti-abortion conference sponsored by the Vatican City, Pope Francis, one of the greatest supporters of anti-abortion campaigns, has spoken out and compared abortion to ‘hiring a hitman.’
According to the Pope, the act can never be excused despite the health status of the baby or the condition of the mother.
In addition, Pope Francis urged all priests and doctors to encourage all expectant mothers to go through with their pregnancy even if their own life is in danger.
“Is it licit to throw away life to resolve a problem?” he questioned the crowd during the pro-life conference. “Is it licit to hire a hitman to resolve a problem?”
Despite the sensitivity of the topic, Francis continued by saying abortions shouldn’t be condoned even when prenatal tests reveal that the fetus is suffering from medical problems on the basis that humans are “never incompatible with life.”
“Taking care of these children helps parents to grieve and not only think of it as a loss but as a step on a path taken together,” the Pope added before addressing the people and telling them that all children are “a gift that changes the history of a family … and this child needs to be welcomed, loved and cared for.”
Despite slamming abortion and comparing it to hiring a hitman, Pope Francis sympathized with women who had them and suggested they could be forgiven.
The pro-life conference was organized in the Vatican by several foundations including Family and Life, Dicastery for Laity, and the Heart in a Drop.
