“Free House! To Be Moved! 337.456.4690 9am – 4pm /Mon-Fri,” McLain wrote on Facebook. “You may recognize this iconic home that is located on Verot School Road? It’s the old Vincent/Vallot/GrandView Nursery home, built in the late 20’s early 30’s.

“McLain Development recently purchased this land and home. In an effort to save the history of the home we are offering it to anyone who would be interested in moving it to another location for restoration.”

Dawn Vallot DeClout, who used to live in the haunted house, said that one of the spirits is her late great-grandmother Adele.

Greg Matlock Senior and Cindy Parr, paranormal investigators from New Orleans, visited the house and claim they were ‘confronted by an evil spirit’ and met with a lot of unexplained happenings.

In an interview with The Sun, Parr said: “I turned into the room and saw this black mass standing there, it wasn’t a shadow or anything like that, it was pretty wide.

“I don’t think it was the older lady, I think it was something totally different, the figure was bigger and stood about 6ft.

“It started to turn and I just thought, ‘Oh no’ and ran out, I was done, it was unbelievable, everything just slowed down.”

She added: “It wasn’t just me seeing it, it was what I felt when it was there, you could feel the power, it was bad, not a good situation to be in at all. We got out and I was definitely exhausted, it draws energy from you, my chest was even hurting.”

The two said they also heard growls and scratches on walls.

McLain has confirmed the property has finally been taken and will be moved 20 miles away from its current location.

“The man is in the construction business, he’s going to move it himself and put it on his family land for his daughter,” McLain told The Sun.

“They wanted it because it was free, they couldn’t care less about the history of it, they don’t believe all the stories.”
