While Prince Harry attended his grandfather’s funeral, his wife Meghan Markle said that her doctors hadn’t let her fly to the UK as she was heavily pregnant with her second child.

The Duchess then joined her husband in posting a tribute to the late Duke of Edinburgh online and also sent a wreath.

Author Tom Bower claimed in a new book ‘Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War between the Windsors’ that on the day Her Majesty was about to lay her husband of more than seven decades to rest, she told her trusted royal aides: “Thank goodness Meghan is not coming.”

Being serialized in The Times and The Sun, the book says: “In Windsor Castle the Queen was preparing to face the public on one of the saddest days of her life.

“Philip had been her rock for the previous 70 years.”

The Queen grieved alone inside the chapel to comply with Covid restrictions. “Thank goodness Meghan is not coming,” the grieving monarch said to her staff, the biographer claimed.

Bower claimed Her Majesty made the remark at Windsor Castle while preparing to go to St. George’s Chapel where people watched on TV as she sat alone because of Covid restrictions.

Sources close to Her Majesty questioned whether the Queen’s focus would’ve been “on anything else but her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, on the day of his funeral.”
