Jessie and Joe Mitchell’s son Perran had a high temperature but the parents initially thought the baby had been ‘badly teething’.

When his health deteriorated, his parents called 111 on Mother’s Day and they were told to isolate the baby for 14 days as they suspected he had Covid-19.

The parents have now urged everyone to take the deadly virus seriously after their one-year-old baby contracted the virus.

Joe took to social media and urged everyone to stop going to the beaches in Cornwall, the streets and the shops.

He also urged everyone to stop buy everything that they don’t need as other people are getting affected by stockpilers.

He said: “The beaches in Cornwall were packed today, the streets and shops are full of people buying stuff they do not need.”

Joe said COVID19 is a serious threat and thousands of people will die if we don’t stop going out.

He advised everyone to stay indoors as nothing is important than your health and your family.

He said: “COVID19 is a serious threat to the lives of thousands of people. Perry has been so ill today and our family are now in isolation for 14 days, minimum.”

After the parents took their baby son for a walk, he became ill. He didn’t struggle to breathe, neither he had a cough but he had a high temperature.

Jessie described the experience as the ‘horrible thing to go through’. She said the severity of the virus is being taken seriously and people are being selfish and putting others’ lives at risk.

She said: “We have been quite shocked. We assumed we would get it and not him. I just urge everyone to follow the guidelines. Anyone can get it – young or old.”

“A baby or healthy 30-year-old might be okay, but it is the vulnerable people they might give it to that will die.”

The baby is still not ok as he still has a high temperature but he is recovering.
