The NRA has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy as the gun rights advocacy group announced major structural changes.

The National Rifle Association’s decision follows shortly after the NY Attorney General sued the organization and accused its leaders of diverting millions of dollars generated through their non-profit mission for personal use. Attempting to dismantle the association, AG Letitia James previously insisted that the NRA should be dissolved after years of alleged corruption.

“Obviously, an important part of this plan is dumping New York. The NRA is pursuing reincorporating in a state that values the contributions of the NRA, celebrates our law-abiding members and will join us as a partner in upholding constitutional freedom,” he insisted.
