Prince Harry long feared that he would be just a sidekick after his nephews turned 18.
The Duke of Sussex, who is currently the fifth in line of succession, made a brazen exit from his life as a royal back in 2020 when he and his wife Meghan left the UK to enjoy a more liberal life in the States.
While critics have long been accusing Meghan of playing a role in getting Harry to turn on his own family, a new book by royal author Valentine Low suggests that the prince was “fixated” on becoming a “has-been.”
The book, titled Courtiers: the Hidden Power behind the Crown, alleges that Prince Harry had a “long-held fear” that he would become an “also-ran” once his nephew, Prince George, turned 18.
In his bombshell work, Low also touched on the topic of bullying allegations made by royal staff against Meghan Markle.
It is said that the Duchess of Sussex at one point strongly criticized a young female in front of other staff members over the plans she had prepared.
After Prince William allegedly attempted to comfort the distressed worker and reassure her that she was doing a good job, the girl broke into tears.
The book further quoted a source claiming that Meghan also bullied another staff member, Samantha Cohen, who joined the Duke and Duchess of Sussex after previously working as the Queen’s assistant private secretary.
According to the allegations, Meghan and Harry were not happy with anything she did and would push her to the limit.
“Sam [Cohen] always made clear that it was like working for a couple of teenagers. They were impossible and pushed her to the limit. She was miserable,” a source claimed as per an extract taken from the book.
Meghan and Harry’s lawyers previously denied these bullying allegations and insisted the couple was always grateful for Cohen’s service.
Meanwhile, the Palace launched an investigation of its own. While Buckingham Palace reportedly investigated bullying claims made by staff against Meghan, the results of their investigation were never revealed to the public.
