A pair of newborn twins is being hailed for being the oldest in the world.
According to reports from local media outlets, the twins were delivered from the longest frozen embryos which were stated to have been cryopreserved 30 years back.
The live birth has gone viral for obvious reasons as many were in wonder and amazement at the picture being presented in front of them.
The twins were identified to be Lydia and Timothy Ridgeway who were both born on October 31 in Oregon. They arose from embryos that had been frozen since April of the year 1992. But little did anyone believe that such a miracle could be possible until it actually took place.
Throughout the 30-year period, the embryos were preserved at the West Coast Fertility Lab until the year 2007. And during this period, the married couple who opted to keep their identity anonymous claimed they wished to donate it to the National Embryo Donation Center that’s located in Knoxville Tennessee.
Both Timothy and Lydia were believed to be a part of a new record that represents the transfer of the longest frozen embryos that ended up in a miraculous live birth.
In the past, we saw a previous record being set by a center based in Knoxville in the year 2020. This is when a baby was born from an embryo that was reportedly 27 years old. Meanwhile, the sister of the baby was also born from another or separate embryo that was kept frozen for nearly 24 years.
The Christian-based organization called embryo donation embryo adoption. However, many experts feel that is a misnomer and it should not ever be confused with terms like adoption as the two are worlds apart from one another.
