A man is being hailed for his honesty after he reportedly located an expensive ring while combing Florida’s beach.
According to reports from local media outlets, the man says he uncovered the ring that was worth thousands and quickly began to look for its owners. He also adds that it never crossed his mind that he would keep it, despite knowing what a valuable possession was in his hands.
37-year-old Joseph Cook says he was busy combing the Hammock Beach that’s located in St. Augustine. But then all of a sudden, he made this exciting discovery as confirmed by SWNS recently.
The man explained how excited he was to make such a discovery as it wasn’t something you see often while combing. He quickly made the effort to dig it up and look for the owner as he worried that they would be in misery.
“I first looked at it and thought it was made from nickel. But then when I uncovered the dirt, I knew it was this giant diamond and platinum ring”- Joseph continued. He revealed his finding through a documentary that he filmed while combing the beach as this was definitely his rare sighting of them all.
Soon afterward, he made his way with the pricey possession to a nearby jewelry store. And that’s when they broke the news to him that it was worth a staggering $40,000.
Those people who are hearing the story are hailing the man as a true honest hero who could have run away with the precious jewel but instead, he opted to turn it in to authorities so that anyone that files a case and provides evidence for it can attain it at the nearest possible date.
