Poor weather conditions, including rough seas, are making it harder for search teams to carry out rescue operations.

Most of those rescued were found unconscious after spending hours adrift in turbulent waters. Despite rapid response efforts, the ferry was found upturned and drifting a southward direction. It’s believed that at the time of the incident, the ferry was transporting 53 people, including 12 crew members, and 22 cars with 14 lorries.
