Traveling to Australia from any corner of the northern hemisphere is a strenuous journey.

British firm Reaction Engine has found a solution to this problem with Hypersonic passenger jets that are deemed to be the future of travel.

Reaction Engines, Britain, has been working on developing a new engine that can thrust an aircraft to Mach 5.4, almost around five times the speed of sound and twice the speed of Concorde. The jet could reach the highest speed of 4,143 mph.
Dr. Graham Turnrock from the UK Space Agency said that if the SABRE (Synergetic Air-Breathing Rocket Engine) is deployed successfully, people would be able to reach Australia may be within less than four hours.
He further added that the project is not a sci-fi, its pure science and mechanism and it actually works. Graham said that air travel would witness tremendous developments in the next ten years.
Will Whitehorn of UK Space Trade Body said that these hypersonic passenger jets would not only allow traveling between UK and Australia within four hours, but it will take the passengers outside the atmosphere without any possible effect.
There’s no doubt in asserting that technology has been treading at a lightning-fast speed, and this is the next step towards that speeding development in the air and space technology.
According to sources, SABRE uses helium and other liquid gases which can cool down the incoming air from 1000 degrees Celsius to -150 degrees Celsius in just 1/100th seconds.
Unlike other jet engines that are able to propel aircraft up to Mach 3, SABRE is said to boost the vehicle up to Mach 5.4, and that’s pretty breathtaking science to digest.
