Arielle and her husband Scott have two children, one together and one from her past relationship.

She explained on TikTok that her in-laws had always favorited their biological grandchild despite denying obvious favoritism.

“This year it was super apparent. For Eva, my eldest’s birthday, they in a plastic bag handed it to her, it was an outfit,” Arielle explained.

“It was cute. They spent maybe $10. They gave it to her a few weeks after her birthday. Didn’t make a big deal of it. Didn’t even watch her open it.

“For my youngest’s birthday, they drive to our house, which is an hour away. Spent maybe a couple hundred dollars on her.

“Bought her dinner. Made sure she had a nice dessert, sang her happy birthday.”

Scott then confronted his parents about the blatant favoritism.

“So Scott reached out to his parents and told them that he thinks they are being unfair,” Arielle continued.

“They did not like that. They kept denying it and everything.

“Finally Scott just said you know what I don’t care if you believe me or not.

“This is an issue and it’s going to affect your relationship with your grandchildren if you don’t do better. We know you can do better.”

Shocked by their son’s approach, they later messaged Arielle and claimed that she had ‘brainwashed’ him.

After a heated argument, she decided to block her in-laws and claims that their relationship was so bad “they haven’t even noticed yet.”

Several months later, she found out that her in-laws had been messaging their children behind their backs.

One person commented: “As the kid who was treated different, I’m glad he decided to cut them out. It’ll save a whole lot of heartache in the future.”

Another wrote: “As the child who got more (which I still feel bad about) your children will thank you someday.”

A third added: “Wow I never left my sons girlfriend of just a few months daughter out, when I went shopping I’d buy her a little toy or clothes just like my daughter, my daughter is 8 and it was lovely going back to buying toddler items again and seeing her face when it lit up when we gave them to her and then lol handing her back to mum lol. I could never ignore my sons ‘step child’ that’s disgusting.”
