An “unbelievable” mother-in-law sparked a heated debate after demanding she breastfeeds her grandchildren.
As a new mother revealed in her shocking Reddit post, she and her husband were left shocked after the man’s mother told them they should let her breastfeed their 2-month-old baby because she wants to strengthen her bond with the baby.
While the couple insisted that would be “inappropriate,” the mother-in-law refused to budge and went on to suggest she wants to breastfeed their baby alongside her daughter’s incoming child.
“This 70-year-old woman plans to breastfeed [my] sister-in-law’s first baby that’s due in six weeks. She read that grandmas help breastfeed babies in some cultures and wants to give it a go,” the distraught mum wrote in her post.
“Now that she’s got this idea that she’s going to breastfeed ‘her grandbaby’, she’s started to come for me saying that she doesn’t want a stronger bond with one baby more than the other (my youngest baby is two months old).point 504 |

As the young woman added, her mother-in-law even went as far as asking her to teach her how to breastfeed so that she could breastfeed both her and her sister-in-law’s baby.
“She says she wants to breastfeed them at the same time – her eyes gloss over as if it’s some dream of her to tandem feed them,” the mother wrote.
“This woman is a special kind of delusional. Can women that age really even re-lactate?”
According to the upset mum, her MIL is now angry at her for turning down her demands even though her husband agrees that her request is unreasonable.
“I told her to go talk to her doctor and find a lactation consultant if it’s that important to her, but that she will never ever breastfeed any of my babies no matter what,” the mom concluded.
