A mother has lashed out at the bakery that allegedly charged her $370 for “embarrassing” unicorn cake that looked nothing like advertised.
As Michigan-based Alexandra Schroeder revealed, she had been planning her 5-year-old daughter’s birthday for over a month.
In an attempt to get her the perfect unicorn cake, she reached out to Whipped Bakery who promised to get the job done for $370.
While there were plenty of complications during the preparation and the execution of the birthday party, nothing upset the mum more than the deformed cake.
“The horn came out in a shape that was so embarrassing,” Alexandra said in an interview with 19News.
“It had fingerprints on it and was not gold. I could tell that it had been handled. When I asked to see the cake pre-party, before my guests arrived, I was told it wasn’t finished.”
In an attempt to get back at the bakery, the mother shared a picture of the disaster on Facebook only for the company to criticize her rather than apologize to her.
“They are now slandering me saying that I have a balance owed and I’ve paid this bakery $370. After the party the owner took it upon herself to preemptively block me from being able to leave a Facebook review,” she added.
While some cakes look like they’re out of this world, there are also times creations end up looking nothing like what they’re supposed to.
In another incident, bride Rena Davis from Georgia has ordered a $300 peacock cake with a bird on top and cupcakes that look like feathers at the side.
However, what the shocked bride received was nothing short of horror.
Fortunately for Rena, however, the baker offered a refund as soon as the pictures of their masterpiece went viral.
