A mom saved the life of her little son, thanks to her incredibly fast reflexes.
The little boy was about to fall from the 4th-floor balcony when his mom grabbed him by his leg in just fractions of a second, saving him from falling down.
A CCTV camera caught the life-saving moment as well as the quick reflex action of the mother.
According to El Espactador, the woman was waiting with her son outside the office of Monserrate construction company in Laureles Colonial building, Medellín, Colombia.
While they were waiting, the child inquisitively headed toward the railing of the balcony, thinking that it is complemented by a glass panel.
But as soon as the child approached the balcony, he stumbled upon his knees and fell headfirst through the opening between the railings.
Just as the kid was about to fall from the balcony, the mother, who was attending to her phone, noticed him and sprang into action.
Responding in just microseconds, the woman grabbed his leg and pulled him back, saving him from a fatal fall.
Thankfully, the child is safe now but whether or not he has suffered any injuries during the incident is yet to be confirmed.
The heart-stopping moment captured in the video shows what would have happened if the mother had lost control of her senses at the time.
In the footage, the workers are seen trying to help the woman pull back her son through the gap between the railings.
The delivery person who had exited the lift with them can be seen running down the stairs to save the child presuming that he had fallen.
The mother has received appreciation from people across the globe after the video clip was shared on Reddit and other social media platforms.
While many people praised her for her prompt reaction, some criticized her for being inattentive toward her child.
Some users also suggested her to sue the company for neglecting proper safety measures. “Considering that there should be either glass or rails… this is a lawsuit waiting to happen,’’ one person wrote.
Another fellow commented: “It looks like there should have been glass. At first glance the mom would have probably thought glass too…”
Some were just happy that the child was safe. “I’m impressed how quickly both the mom and the guy in the helmet reacted,” one user wrote.
“The bike messenger thought to go down the stairs nearly by instinct. Glad there was a good outcome.”
