While the beauty queen is often showered with praise and positive feedback on social media, Thattil recently revealed how she is sometimes discriminated against because of her attractiveness.

“I was told even in my internship, very early just starting my career, you need to be extra nice to people because you’re pretty, therefore they’re going to assume you’re stuck up,” the model said in an interview with news.com.au.

Besides often being judged based on her overall looks and the amount of makeup she wears, the 27-year-old was once allegedly told she only got the job she was after because the interview fell for her beauty.

“If we see a woman in leadership, who is firm in her decision making… it means that she might not be empathetic and she must be a little bit hard,” Thattil insisted.

“If you’ve got a smart woman that is intelligent and ambitious, she can’t possibly be beautiful, sensual and creative as well.

“We make inferences about people based on limited knowledge, based on labels, stereotypes and a lack of representation.”

While the model admitted she also has some “privileges” due to current beauty standards, including plump lips and darker skin tone, she claimed her features also get her subjected to prejudice and exclusion.
