Generally, the holiday season is the time when you connect with your family and have little get together.
Whether for good or bad reasons, we all do it.
This Christmas holiday, Cydney Prescott got to realize resentment of his relatives and sheer love of his mother.
Cyudney’s extended family had planned a meeting to discuss him being gay. It is quite hard to even imagine having a round table conference discussing a family member’s sexuality.
Cydney’s mom wasn’t going to allow it, she interrupted the talk and asked everyone to clear the room.
She clearly indicated that no one is going to harm his child mentally for being gay and she clearly stated that she is not going to tolerate any nonsense.
Cydney immediately took to his social media account to express his feeling, where he said that his relatives were going to chat about his sexuality and how his mother came to the rescue and shut everyone’s mouth.
His post instantly got 300k likes and 3.4K comments, in which a majority of people were appreciating his mother’s, unconditional love.
Many of the LGBTQ people find it difficult to come out to their family that eventually makes them depressed and some of them even lose their identity. It is essential to have someone’s constant support when we are living in such a hypocrite society.
According to a study, 79% of LGBTQ individuals have discussed their sexuality with at least one of their parents and two-thirds of youth have first disclosed to their siblings.
Although the LGBTQ community is becoming more common in western countries, it is still a concerning issue in many parts of the world.
For Cydney, it was his mom who came to his support. We can only wish that every Cydney out there gets a mom like him who can help them stand as an individual in this mean society.
