According to Grisbook, daily mixed grills and red wine are the secrets to a long and happy life. He’s been preparing grills consisting of steak, gammon, fried egg, sausages, tomatoes, mushrooms, hash browns, French fries, and peas nearly every evening.

To make his dinners even smoother, he loves to enjoy a couple of glasses of red wine with his meals.

While his diet may not seem like the healthiest option on the menu, Arthur continues to amaze people around him with his great shape and independent lifestyle.

Allegedly, he is also often told that he looks much younger than he actually is.

“I eat and drink what I fancy and don’t worry about what the so-called ‘experts’ say,” the widowed great-grandfather said of his diet.

“I believe in doing things moderately and sensibly. I drink most nights with my meals. Even in my old age I still want to live as independently as I possibly can.

“With age the gullet becomes narrower, that’s just a feature of age. But mixed grills are quite tasty and easy to cook and eat.

“I also like making sausage and mash and fish and chips – but of course, my mixed grill is best.”

Speaking of her healthy father, 72-year-old Margaret said: “All my friends say ‘your dad doesn’t look like he’s 100. He’s very supportive, undemanding and appreciative. We always love to spend time with him. He’s a remarkable man.”
