A man who has been growing his mustache for over 30 years has spoken out and admitted he believes he has the world’s longest mustache.

58-year-old Girdhar Vyas from Rajasthan, India, has been growing his beautiful whiskers since 1985 when he first discovered delight in preserving his mustache.
“I have been doing a lot for my mustaches to make them large and strong and I know for sure that I have the longest mustaches in the world,” he said in an interview with Barcroft TV.
As it happens, Mr. Vyas is most likely correct, as his mustache measures astounding 22 feet in length while the previous record holder, also an Indian, boasted of ‘mere’ 18.5 feet of a mustache.
“It was very difficult for me to get it to 22 feet. This is not easy at all. It takes two to three hours grooming daily,” Vyas admitted.
“As soon as I wake up, the first thing I do is spread my mustache on the bed. Once I have done that I put some oil in a cup and I massage it with the oil. It takes around two hours to apply the oil.
“After that, I add lemon, and black pepper powder to it, and massage it in every evening. All this helps to keep my mustaches soft.”
As for his plans for the future, Vyas plans to continue growing his mustache and has no intentions of changing his mind.
“I haven’t shaved my mustaches for the last 33 years and till the time I am alive, I won’t shave them,” he added.
Speaking of the struggles that come along living with such a long mustache, the man said:
“I am not able to eat everything. I have to eat selectively. I can’t even have an ice cream or I won’t be able to eat food without a spoon. I can’t eat a variety of things.
“People get baffled to see such a long mustache. People do call me with different names. At my village people call me ‘Mustache Man.’”
While the 58-year-old has received some criticism because of his looks, he is mostly admired for his unusual achievement.
“I was bullied for having a long mustache. Some people believed that I was unhygienic because of my long whiskers. But it doesn’t matter to me,” Vyas added.
“Most the people do respect me. They love seeing me. Some people come to see me every day.
“People wait outside my house and once I leave, they come to take pictures with me. I don’t mind taking pictures with people. They click pictures with me as if I am a celebrity. I feel good about it.”
