Another prankster who was filmed licking a tub of ice cream before placing it back inside the freezer has pleaded guilty on Thursday.
24-year-old D’Adrien Anderson admitted to his crime after he shared the video on social media last year. The clip shows him standing in a Walmart store in Texas as he licked a tub of ice cream and returned it back to the shelf.
Surveillance footage reportedly revealed that Anderson later bought the ice cream tub but the branch in question was forced to get rid of all of its Blue Bell ice cream as a precaution.
D’Adrien could now face up to one year in jail and a $4,000 fine.
It was in August when the incident happened at a Walmart in Texas. According to authorities, store surveillance cameras show D’Adrien takes the ice cream tub out of the freezer and purchases it.
But the clip that he uploaded to Instagram and Facebook was viewed over 125,000 times.
His social media accounts contain multiple photos and videos of him playing pranks on people, with one showing him taking jars off a grocery store shelf after a worker arranges them.
Another clip shows him running towards the Toyota Center floor in the middle of a game before security guards escorted him out.
“I love your ice cream #bluebell plz [sic] don’t ban me from buying it #im#sorry [sic],” he wrote.
Jefferson County District Attorney Bob Wortham said to KFDM at that time: “This guy loves publicity even if it’s for the wrong reason. That can lead to bigger and worse things. If we’re going to save this guy, we have to do it with this case or he’s over the hill.”
