A guy who was about to kick a soccer ball filled with concrete has slammed the vicious prank.

The man, who didn’t want to be named, came across the soccer ball in the middle of a park in Bristol. It had on it a number of nasty messages such as ‘cool, bet that hurt.’

Someone sure went to great ends to fill concrete in the empty casing of the soccer ball as it was, by no means, an easy task.

Speaking to BristolLive, the man who spotted the ball in the playfield said he was about to kick it. Fortunately, the weird shape of the ball kept him from doing so.

“We walked around the perimeter of the cricket pitch, which is in a raised part of the playing fields, and I noticed the ball pretty early on – it was my intention to go over at the end of the walk and kick it to the side somewhere,” he told the outlet.

“As I was heading towards it, I noticed it looked a bit misshapen and deflated, so I just very lightly tapped it with my foot. I obviously noticed straight away it was very heavy.

“The concrete patch was visible too, and on closer inspection I saw someone had scrawled on it.”

Even though he didn’t weight the ball, he believes it to have weighed around 20 kg. Had the man kicked it, he would have surely experienced a lot of damage and pain.

“Someone has gone to a lot of effort to do this,” the 31-year-old said. “And to keep the ball round to make it look as realistic as possible.

“It was clearly intended to injure someone, there are some not very nice notes written on the ball and it’s definitely been done with a bit of malice.

“I wouldn’t have thought it was done by kids either, as I doubt they would have access to concrete and the sort of materials you’d need to make it look that realistic.”

After learning about the prank, the man moved the ball aside so that no other person would approach it, mistaking it for a normal soccer ball.

He plans to alert the police, but, for now, he has taken to social media to warn the local community.

“Found and removed this from the upper cricket pitch at Pomphrey last night, a sick joke waiting to cause someone some pain,” he wrote in a Facebook post.

“A concrete filled soccer ball with some kind messages written on.”

Bristolians have been shocked at the malicious prank, with people calling it ‘unbelievable’ and a ‘nasty, nasty thing to do.’
