Madeleine McCann’s Parents Ask People To Pray For Missing Daughter As They Mark 13th Anniversary Of Her Disappearance

Madeleine McCann’s parents, 51-year-old Gerry and 52-year-old Kate, are asking people to ‘please remember Madeleine’ as they mark the 13th anniversary of her disappearance.

They usually have an outdoor gathering at the village war memorial but it had to be canceled due to coronavirus outbreak.

Gerry and Kate marked the day inside their home with their 15-year-old twins Amelie and Sean.

“It is now 13 years since we were last with Madeleine,” they said on the official Find Madeleine Campaign Facebook page.

“Her 17th birthday is to follow in the next couple of weeks… the latter tangibly, painfully, bringing it home to us what we have missed and continue to miss as a family.”

According to the Daily Star, Madeleine’s uncle, Brian Kennedy, said the family circulated prayers to churchgoers urging people to say or read the prayer for Maddie.

Kate and Gerry cling on to hope that their daughter could still be alive.

Their official website Find Madeleine says that there’s nothing that suggests Madeleine has been harmed but she is still missing, vulnerable and young, and needs help.

It was in 2007 when Maddie vanished from the family’s holiday apartment in Portugal. She had been sleeping inside with her 2-year-old siblings while Kate and Gerry were in a nearby restaurant with their friends.

The parents said they made regular checks on the kids throughout the evening.

But ex-detective Mark Williams-Thomas claimed Maddie’s case will never be resolved as the CCTV camera was off when she disappeared.

One internet user commented: “I hope that one day the question of Madeline’s disappearance is answered. My parents told me that when I was a baby they would leave me in the room while they went to dinner at Butlins holiday camp in the 1960’s. I didn’t think people do that these days after Madeleine.”

Another wrote: “i just wish more people would examine the facts of this case.”
