According to Grant Wise, a local businessman, he organized a “$100 Dinner Club” and managed to get 44 people to contribute $100 each towards the fund for tipping at Oven and Tap.

After raising $4,400, Wise surprised Brandt with the substantial amount and told her to split it with another waitress that she was working with at the time.

Breaking into tears, Brandt gladly accepted the check and insisted it would help her greatly in paying off her student loans.

Her joy, however, didn’t last long. As the young waitress told FOX 59, she was soon ordered by her boss to share her tip with all of the workers at the restaurant even though Wise allegedly contacted the business in advance and confirmed that workers were not obliged to share their tips.

“I was told that I was going to be giving my cash over to my shift manager and I would be taking home 20 percent,” Brandt said as she claimed she was never before asked to share her tips despite working at Oven and Tap for more than three years.

The waitress also said she was left “devastated” after being forced to hand over the majority of her tip to the manager.

To make matters even worse, the restaurant fired Brandt just days after forcing her to share her tip. As the reason for her dismissal, the eatery accused the waitress of violating their rules by speaking out about their tip policy to Wise.

“I’m so saddened to hear that the girl we tipped the other night at our $100 Dinner Club has been fired from her job,” Wise wrote in his post after the incident.

“I don’t fully understand why this would happen to what seems like such a sweet and kind-hearted woman.

“Nonetheless, I’m committed to showing her that there are great people in the world that will do good when they can.”

Determined to help out the young lady, Wise then started a GoFundMe page and managed to raise more than $8,700 for Brandt.

He later also shared an update saying Brandt has since her dismissal accepted a job at another restaurant.
