A kind-hearted priest made an amazing way out to help the stray dogs of the city, through his move the abandoned dogs will be adopted by different families and dogs will get home.
Father Gomes was determined to take care of all creatures of God when he became a Catholic priest.
He takes his commitment very seriously and got concerned to see the condition of abandoned dogs he then decided to take a step for saving these poor creatures.
The story started as Father Joao Paulo Araju Gomes is the head of Parish of Santana in Brazil’s city of Gravata.
He started participating in the NGO in which a few volunteers sell cookies to help stray dogs.
After this, he himself decided to take action on this issue by locating some poor dogs and taking them to an apartment where they were looked after and their health issues were addressed by veterans.
According to him even if someone doesn’t believe in God he must have a kind and compassionate heart to serve every creature.
Father Gomes invites the abandoned and stray dogs to his church with an aim to find a home for them.
The doors of his church and his heart always welcome this neglected community and show them to the families who are interested in adopting them.
Father Gomes said, “I helped some of the dogs with health issues and brought them to the parish from where they were adopted”.
He aims to provide a portion of food, sleep, comfort and shelter through raising awareness to people who like to add on a new member into their family.
He not only rescues the neglected dogs but also gives them shelter and love and through this kind gesture, Father Gomes has the number of stray dogs has been decreasing from Gravata which has almost 228,000 inhabitants.
The amazing thing is that a few of these dogs stay with him in his bed just like his children.
Father Gomes has set an example for others and his efforts of Christian solidarity have gone viral on social media.
He became a voice of the voiceless and have touched millions of hearts.
