Kim Kardashian, 40, has filed for divorce from Kanye West after more than six years of marriage.
The reality TV star submitted the legal documents on Friday through her attorney Laura Wasser, TMZ reported. She is seeking joint custody of their four children, North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm.
Sources also told the publication that the rapper is fine with the joint custody arrangement.
An insider also confirmed to Daily Mail that the makeup guru has filed for divorce, saying: “The split is amicable and there is no drama.”
Kim had very little contact with her husband since October when they had an argument during her birthday.
But tensions started in July when the 43-year-old rapper decided to run for President of the United States and revealed that he wanted North aborted.
He also called his wife’s mother Kris Jenner ‘Kris Jong Un.’
Kanye is now ‘resigned to reality’ over the filing of divorce papers, and that ‘it is a somber day for him,’ a source said to People Magazine.
“It’s as amicable as possible, but amicable doesn’t mean joyful or ideal,” the source said. “It just means that they’re being adults about the whole thing.”
It was in 2012 when Kim and Kanye started dating. In May 2014, they tied the knot in Italy after welcoming their eldest child North.
An insider also said that the rapper “is fine with the joint custody arrangement” as he and Kim have already talked about co-parenting.
Kanye is worth $1.3B thanks to his concerts, music, apparel, and shoe lines while Kim is worth almost $1B thanks to her fragrance, makeup, and intimate lines.
