WWE Superstar John Cena tied the knot with Shay Shariatzadeh in a private ceremony in Tampa.
It was in early 2019 when the 43-year-old actor started dating Shariatzadeh, 29, after Cena’s split with Nikki Bella in 2018.
Shariatzadeh and Cena tied the knot in a private ceremony on October 12. According to TMZ, this is the actor’s second wedding.
The WWE star was previously married to Elizabeth Huberdeau until their divorce was finalized in 2012. He then started dating Nikki Bella later that year and proposed to the WWE Diva at WrestleMania 33 in April 2017.
But the couple decided to separate ways before they were scheduled to tie the knot as Bella wanted to have children and Cena did not. Bella then gave birth to her first child with her fiancé Artem Chigvintsev.
Shariatzadeh, who was born in Iran but was raised in Canada, is a product manager for a tech company in Vancouver.
She and Cena got very serious quickly and were seen kissing in public for the past year.
In a January interview with Access, Cena shared about keeping his love life private. “I think it’s, like with anything, if you set a goal, stick to the goal,” he said.
“With anything you choose to do, if you choose to do something, set up a structure that will protect it. I have a goal for sharing certain things with everybody and keeping certain things for me.”
On October 9, the actor tweeted a message about surrendering to love.
He wrote: “Love involves constant effort. When you are truly ready to let love in and give to love all it needs to flourish, I feel there is no greater more rewarding connection.”
