Husband Sues Wife For ‘Every Penny’ He Spent On 8-Year-Old Son He Discovered Was Not His

A man has sued his estranged wife after he found out that he is not the biological father of their 8-year-old son.

He wants his unfaithful wife to return ‘every penny’ spent on her son he believed was his. He also wants her to reveal the name of the man she had an affair with and wants damages to compensate for distress.

The husband says the boy should know who his real father is but the wife is against it.

At a recent hearing in the Family Division of the High Court, Mr. Justice Cohen analyzed evidence and arguments relating to whether the wife should be ordered to say the name of the child’s real father.

He said he would make a final decision after another hearing.

The judge also said the husband had been shattered to discover he was not the child’s real father that he had launched a ‘raft’ of litigation and was ‘full of controlled anger.’

Mr. Cohen said the estranged wife was ‘full of remorse.’ The 8-year-old boy couldn’t be identified in media reports.

One internet user commented: “So sad. This man is so consumed with anger that he cannot see that the child is the only person getting hurt here. Yes biologically he’s not his father but anyone can be a father but it takes a real man to be a dad especially to a child who’s not biologically yours. As far as this boy is concerned he is his dad. He doesn’t care about biology. Time to put feelings and ego aside and think of the boy.”

Another wrote: “The person she has betrayed most of all is her son. I don’t blame the duped father for suing her, the mother had a responsibility to find out who the real father was if there was any doubt. It will be the son who will suffer the heartbreak eventually.”

A third said: “Sadly, probably 10% of men are not the biological father of at least one of their children, and go through an entire lifetime, believing the child is theirs. Only when something like and accident happens, does it come to light. Hope the outcome of this is not too painful and disruptive to the child, who is and innocent party in this.”
