This 5-Ingredient Caprese Candy Cane Board Is the Cutest Holiday Appetizer

We want to save your time and want to give you some rest, so we are sharing this super-easy appetizer from Maegan Brown, the blogger behind The Baker Mama and author of the cookbook Beautiful Boards.

This super easy appetizer needs just a few ingredients: pre-sliced mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, olive oil, sea salt, and crusty bread. If you want to make it fancier, just add some balsamic vinegar or reduction for drizzling and garnish with some fresh basil.

It saves you so much time and prepares in just a few minutes, so instead of working in the kitchen, you can spend time with your loved ones. This is easy but still looks so amazing on a plate.

It is a great option for a holiday party, or best bring to your friend’s house for a holiday movie night. Brown says in her Instagram post: “I adore the stunning simplicity of this board. It takes minutes to build with minimal ingredients yet makes for such a beautiful and delicious dish to serve at a holiday gathering.”

Baked Brie is a popular appetizer, and we complement the Brie with tart cranberry sauce and bake it in pretty individual tartlets using pre-made pie crust. It’s a delicious appetizer.

3-Ingredient Cranberry-Brie Bites

1 (7 to 8 ounce) prepared pie crust (1/2 of a 14-ounce package; see Tip)

½ cup prepared cranberry sauce or homemade (see associated recipe), divided

3 ounces Brie cheese, cut into 24 pieces, divided

1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives (optional)

Step 1

Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. coats a mini muffin tin with cooking spray.

Step 2

Unroll pie crust onto a cutting board, flatten the dough to about 12 inches in diameter. Cut 24 2-inch circles out of the dough with a biscuit cutter. Place the dough circles in the muffin tin cups, gently press on the bottom and sides. Prick the dough with a fork. Bake until lightly browned, 5 to 7 minutes. Remove from the oven.

Step 3

Add 1 teaspoon cranberry sauce to cup, then top with a piece of Brie. Place it to the oven and bake until the sauce is hot and the cheese has melted, about 5 minutes more. Let cool for 10 minutes. Sprinkle with chives, before serving.
