NFL Star Herschel Walker Says African Americans Living In The US Are ‘Blessed’


NFL star Herschel Walker has spoken out about his life story and insisted that Black people in the country are blessed.

In a video that the 58-year-old athlete posted on Twitter, Walker insisted that African Americans living in the United States are “blessed” rather than “oppressed.”

Directing his speech at people who claim otherwise, Walker expressed his gratitude for having the chance to represent his country in the 1992 Olympics despite being born as a “poor Black kid from South Georgia.”

“I started thinking this poor Black kid from South Georgia got a chance to represent the United States of America,” the NFL legend said.

“I’ve been hearing from a lot of people saying, ‘we’re oppressed’. Well I’m here to tell you, you’re not.

“So, all the entertainers all the athletes out there that are telling these people, we African Americans are oppressed, well, we’re not. We can do whatever we want to do.”

As the 58-year-old College Hall of Famer added, he saw “many other countries” envy the US while participating in the Olympics.

Sharing his video on social media, Walker wrote:

“We’re not oppressed we’re BLESSED in the USA!! The American Dream is the envy of all other countries.”
