A mother was caught on camera jumping and yelling in excitement as she rang the bell to announce that she’s finally free of cancer.

Lakesha Ball is a breast cancer survivor that has undergone three rounds of chemotherapy since she was diagnosed with the disease back in May 2017.

Later that year, the mum from Columbia, Maryland, found another lump in her breast and realized she was far from being cured.

For nearly two years, Lakesha had been undergoing painful radiation treatments while being subjected to three rounds of chemotherapy and a partial mastectomy.

During her treatment at the University of Maryland Proton Center, Lakesha has resorted to God and prayers for support and strength.

“These crosses, you’ll probably see me with them every day because he did it for me,” she said. “He did it for me. I never got discouraged, never sad. I walked with God the whole way, prayed the whole time.”

And fortunately for Ball, her prayers appear to have come true. On March 11 this year, Lakesha proudly walked up to the ‘Ring in Hope’ bell in the hospital and gave it her best shake.

The ecstatic lady was seen jumping around and yelling as she was ringing the bell with all her might.

“When it came time for me to ring the bell, I got there super early,” she recalled. “I was super excited. My whole family was there.

“I was determined to ring that bell, I almost pulled that bell off the wall!

“All that pain, that agony — everything I’ve been through, I released on that bell when I rang it. When I walked out of that clinic that day, I am free, that’s all I can say. I am free.”
