Groom-To-Be Dies While Celebrating Engagement With His Fiancée


A young groom-to-be has tragically passed away while celebrating engagement together with his fiancée and their friends at the beach.

The incident occurred at the Itupararanga Dam in São Paulo, Brazil, where 24-year-old Joao Guilherme Torres Fadini and 25-year-old Larissa Campos were celebrating their engagement together with their friends.

According to the reports, Joao, who was known to be a good swimmer, drowned just moments after kissing his girlfriend and telling her he loved her.

“After the kiss, he took off his shirt and went into the water together with our friends. He asked me to wait for him and said he loved me,” heartbroken Larissa said in an interview with G1 news.

As she explained, her fiancé and his friends “started a swimming race to the next shore” after taking to the water to cool down.

“Almost everyone gave up and there was only him and my brother-in-law Gabriel left,” Larissa added. As the pair swam further, Joao suddenly vanished, prompting the group to initiate a frantic search and call emergency services for help.

After the arrival of the Sao Roque Fire Department, boats and divers had been deployed to search for the missing 24-year-old. Later on, the rescuers were also joined by various experts and specialists dealing with this kind of cases.

“While the firemen were on their way we searched everywhere, but without success. Almost an hour and a half after the firemen arrived, the divers found his body,” the grieving 25-year-old said.

As of this writing, it is unclear how exactly the groom-to-be died and whether his death is being further investigated.

“All I think and dream about is him. Now all I have left are memories of everything we lived and dreamed of experiencing together,” Larissa expressed.
