A grandmother gave birth to her granddaughter through surrogacy on Monday in Nebraska.
She helped her son and his husband with surrogacy and gave birth to a baby girl.
The couple Matthew Eledge who is 32 and his partner Elliot Dougherty who is 29, were considering IVF as their option to conceive a baby since last two years but they were shocked to see that Eledge’s mother who is 61 years old happily accepted to be the couple’s surrogate.
Cecile Eledge who is Matthew’s mother went through menopause ten years ago, and she last gave birth to a baby 30 years ago. Cecile claims that she loves being pregnant and if she ever gets a chance then she would do it again in a heartbeat.
While the couple was meeting Dr.point 132 | Carolyn Maud Dougherty who is a reproductive endocrinologist in Omaha, Nebraska said that there is nothing harmful about Cecile’s idea till now.point 261 |
The doctors took different tests of Cecile like blood, pap smear, cholesterol, mammogram, and ultrasound.point 91 | After seeing all the test results, the doctors confirmed that she is fit to carry a baby for nine months.point 177 | 1
Matthew told the DailyMail.com that his mother has low blood pressure as compared with others today. He also said that he has so much respect for his mother because even today when I am all grown up, she goes above and beyond for me and takes care.
Cecile is so kind towards the couple that they are touched with her love and efforts towards them. Now this time, Elliot’s sister is helping them with their second child.
Cecile’s went through various hormone treatments and then doctors implanted fertilized eggs using Eledge’s sperm. Cecile got pregnant on the first go only, and the doctors were shocked that she also gave birth to the baby later naturally without undergoing any other way.
The photographer Ariel Panowicz captured the emotional moment when the couple met their daughter. The couple were very emotional and were crying continuously while looking at their daughter.
Matthew expressed how while growing up they used to tease their mother a lot, and she would always let them go away with it.
Then he said that while being in that room all the jokes stopped, and for me, she was like a warrior. It is impressive how Uma has so many role models around her, and she will have a special bond with her parents.
