A Norwegian girl posted about how she was having her own horse’s meat for a meal.
The revelation of the same got her into trouble as people online did not appreciate it.
Pia Olden is an 18 years teenage girl who grew up on a farm and had several animals around her all her life.
She had owned several horses and when Drifting Speed, one of her horses died in 2018, she decided to eat him. What got her all the attention was the pictures she shared online and the post he wrote along.
Pia wrote that she had to put her horse Drifting Speed down as he was ill for a long time. And now she was munching on her horse’s meat.
The post invited a lot of backlash for her and she even received death threats.
Pia said that she is grown up on a farm and her opinion on things is different.
She says that this was her way of honoring Drifting Speed’s body as his body was serving as a delicacy and if I had not used his meat, his body would have been lying somewhere where bacteria would be feeding on his body.
She said “I received a lot of backlashes and what people do not get is this is the way I pay my honor to my horse.
They even sent me threat mails. Some of them said that I do not deserve to live because I eat my pet, some said that I should not be allowed to have a pet at all.
Most of these messages were from women who were horse riders themselves. I have been through what I have been through and I did what felt right to me.”
She shared a picture of Drifting Speed and the meat which she had decorated with mangoes and chilies.
