The Queen happily accepted the flowers and when she began to walk away, hilarity followed.

As the queen passed one of the royal guards, he moved to salute her but his arm struck the 6-year-old girl right in the face.

The impact sent Maisie’s dark blue hat flying off of her head.

As soon as the Queen walked out, the royal guard immediately bent down and apologized to the little girl and her mother, Joanne Gregory.

Joanne accepted the apology and sad Maisie was fine. The girl was just exhausted from all of the excitement.

The mother said that Maisie had been up since 4:45 am as she couldn’t wait to meet the Queen. She wore her traditional Welsh clothing for the event.

“She took a bit of convincing initially,” Joanne said. “But when she realized she was going to meet the Queen she was quite happy to wear traditional Welsh clothes.”
