The girl from Fort Worth, who is not named, stabbed her 14-year-old friend, Nylah Lightfoot, in the neck and chest when she picked up her clothes from their home on May 29, 2018.

Nylah’s mother, Antoinette Carter, said the mother of the suspect just stood and watched the argument without stepping in.

It took one hour and 20 minutes for the jury to convict the assailant and another hour and 10 minutes with a suggested sentence, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

The assailant will be held in a Texas Juvenile Justice Department facility. The court will decide whether to transfer her to an adult prison or grant the teen leniency on or before she turns 19.

Carter delivered a statement after the sentence was announced. ‘When they told me it was you, it hurt. You was at my house every day.’

She said her daughter wanted to become a makeup artist but now, she will never see that passion again, nor will she see her angel graduate high school or get married.

‘You spent her last birthday with us. I don’t know how I come back from this,’ the heartbroken mother said through tears.

On the day of the incident, Nylah asked if her friend could sleep over, to which Carter said no. The suspect then asked the victim to come over and get clothes she had swapped with her.

But when Nylah arrived at her friend’s Fort Worth apartment complex, the two got into an argument.

Nylah was rushed to John Peter Smith Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

‘Now I’m daughterless. And my heart feels like it’s just been ripped out and stomped on,’ Carter expressed.

Prosecutor Jim Hudson said during the closing statement: ‘There is no arguing what her intent was. When she came outside with the knife she was still in control. But not even her friend could stop her. She was only following through with what she had threatened twice.’
