Some people go door-to-door in hopes of selling a few boxes of cookies.
But, one group of Chicago Girl Scouts decided to do something different.
Even though it is still a controversial topic, many states are legalizing weed, whether it’s medical or recreational. The funny thing is, weed dispensaries are far from the only thing benefiting from this. Many Girl Scouts took it as a perfect opportunity to sell even more cookies.
The local Girl Scout troop in Andersonville, Illinois reached out to Dispensary33 to set up their cookie stall outside the dispensary on Sunday morning. After getting appreciation, the girls laid out their cookies. They delighted both customers and employees of the weed shop.
A spokesperson for the Girl Scouts of the Greater Chicago Area and Northwest Indiana called it a great idea and the girls sold as many as several hundred boxes.point 244 |
Abigail Watkins, marketing and outreach manager for the dispensary, confirmed that Girl Scouts plan to have different troops selling cookies on upcoming weekends all through February as well.point 164 | “The cookies they’re selling and our clientele, it’s a great match,” said Watkins.point 242 |

She said she was reminded of this when looking for new places in the area that weren’t taken.point 232 |

“We have Girl Scout cookies!!” the dispensary tweeted Sunday morning. “And not just the cannabis kind. Support your local Girl Scouts with us.”
The dispensary also offers a strain of cannabis called “Girl Scout Cookie.
